depicted from original article of "East meet West" , the article actually contain interview with one of MNC employee from China and was about the differences and problem faced employee from 2 different continent in working together as a team. I was quite interested with statement which I have attahed below mentioning about education system that makes the difference and as one of gap identified. It makes sense that how we were tought at school and how the education system works will directly influence the students that been produced by the system at the end.
"HB: It is true that many Asians have a strong mindset of execution and waiting for direction. We sometimes encounter issues if we don’t get the right direction.
Sam: I have studied abroad and I think it’s still related to our education system. We spend time taking quizzes and lots of exams. We fill the blanks in the quizzes and we do single choice, multiple choice, etc. What do they do in U.S.? They do reports, research, projects, etc. We work out the issue that’s been given. U.S. students are looking for a topic or issue first and then work on it. So when we graduate, we wait for issues and directions to be given and focus on the execution."
I think we should do something about this as I am also personally feel the same thing when comes to work environment.
